The Desrochers Experience - Real Client Testimonials
Over the past year, I have had the absolute pleasure of working with @Desrochers Realty Group, shooting their @TheAmericanDreamTV episodes. This past week, I was able to hear first-hand from long-term clients of Daniel & Julie Desrochers how they have not only helped their clients find and sell homes, but more importantly, establish lasting relationships that truly change lives.

BMPCC4K Extreme ZOOM Lens (540mm!)

The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K (BMPCC 4K) has a crop factor of 1.9x. I paired that with a Viltrox MFT to EF .71x adapter, Canon 2x Extender, and my favorite telephoto lens, the 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II. This gives me 540mm of super telephoto ZOOM equivalent! It might not be the BEST BMPCC4K zoom lens, but it sure is fun getting that much magnification out of the BMPCC4K. The biggest disapp...

TINY V-Mount Battery for BMPCC4K & Cinema Rigs (Moman Power 99 Review)

Compared to my 190Wh batteries I use for my BMPCC4K rig, this is a very nice, compact vmount battery option. It might be the best 98Wh V-mount battery in its price range. I should be getting about 6-8 hours of run time with my setup using this battery. Though spendy, I think the higher quality battery cells used in this vmount battery for BMPCC4K will last much better in the long run. Moman 99W...

After backup, I go through the clips before importing into Davinci Resolve. I start with the last take from each scene as it's most likely to be a keeper. Then I work backwards to keep one to three takes of that scene. Then, on to the next. Most b-roll I leave as-is. Hope that helps.

Hey, im getting research for my own reality TV show and I thought it would be smart to ask you, about how much raw footage do you record in process of making your show and about how long should it take to edit if I have a semi busy schedule.

Depending on the format (talking head, VO, broll w/music, etc.), expect to record 3-6 hours in a full day (could be more, could be much less), and at least 3-5 full days in post if you're doing it yourself.

I guess I could build one but don't really want to do that unless absolutely neccessary. It seems that Smallrig does not supply any of those connectors except D-Tap with a barrel but I don't need that. Thanks for your help.

  • @davidp158

Thanks for the review. FWIW, I've read a number of reviews that the SmallRig's articulating arm can't support large V-mount batteries, which could be an issue for some. Q: Do you know if the Tilta's 8V and 12V outputs are regulated? Unregulated power can fry a camera, so I'd want to be 110% certain those are regulated before using them.
